Terms of use

The agreement

These terms are between you and Elias Hanken (Norway), who makes Bite. By creating an account you agree to them. How we handle your data is in the privacy policy.

Not medical advice

Bite helps you track food and weight. Its calorie and macro targets are estimates from standard formulas, and AI readings of photos and descriptions are estimates too — they can be wrong. Nothing in the app is medical or dietary advice. If you are pregnant, have or have had an eating disorder, or have a medical condition, talk to a doctor or dietitian before changing how you eat.

Your account

You must be 13 or older. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for what happens in your account. You can delete it at any time from Settings.

Your content

What you log and the photos you take stay yours. You give us permission to store and process them only to run the app for you, as the privacy policy describes.

Fair use

Don’t misuse the service: no attempts to break or overload it, reach other people’s data, or get around the AI limits. We may suspend accounts that do.

Free and Pro

Bite is free to use, with a few AI logs a week and search, barcodes and adding by hand as much as you like. Bite Pro adds the rest. Features may change over time; we will tell you before anything you rely on goes away.

Bite Pro

Bite Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly, sold by Apple through the App Store at the price and period shown before you buy.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase.
• It renews automatically for the same period and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple charges the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
• Manage or cancel it in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro stays until the end of the period you paid for.
• Refunds are handled by Apple, under Apple’s rules.
• A free Pro week is offered once per account and once per iPhone. It needs no payment, ends by itself and never turns into a paid plan.

These terms apply in addition to Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Where they conflict for the app and purchases made through the App Store, Apple’s agreement applies.

Liability

We work to keep Bite accurate and available, but provide it as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses or for decisions made from the app’s estimates. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer under Norwegian law.

Changes and law

We may update these terms and will tell you in the app before important changes take effect. Norwegian law applies. Questions: support@bitecalories.com.
